Janine Davis

Lead Pastor

A multi-talented and gifted preacher, teacher, counselor, and servant of the Lord, Pastor Janine N. Davis, formerly Simpson, is having a life-changing impact on the lives of people across the country and, indeed, around the world. As a preacher and teacher, she is as authoritative as she is passionate; and as charismatic as she is thought provoking. She has ministered relevant and stimulating messages to parishioners as far away as Mozambique (Africa) and Monterrey, Mexico.

Pastor Davis serves as a national evangelism trainer for the Evangelical Covenant Church, on the board of the Great Lakes Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church, and is a member of the Women’s Leadership Help Group, which helps strengthen women in leadership.  She also served on the Urban and Discipleship Task Forces for the Everyone A Chance to Hear (EACH) movement, an evangelistic movement involving over 500 churches and ministries in metro-Detroit.

Her current work is an extension of her tireless work to change the alarmingly high numbers of abortions that occur in the African American community. Pastor Davis developed and administered an 8-week curriculum for an abortion recovery group at the Potter’s House in Dallas—a congregation of more than 28,000 members. As the former Director of Urban Center Development for Care Net, a nonprofit organization supporting a network of more than 800 pregnancy centers in the U.S. and Canada, she pioneered the effort to make pregnancy centers accessible to women in urban areas. Pastor Davis designed programs to develop and promote new pregnancy centers and prepared public education materials concerning abortion in urban areas. She also served as the media spokeswoman for Care Net’s urban initiative and as associate pastor of Christian Tabernacle Church in Sterling, VA.

Pastor Davis answered the call to start a church in the city of Detroit, called the Bridge Covenant Church. The Bridge proactively pursues unbelievers, loves them into a fully devoted relationship with Jesus Christ, then releases them into their God given purpose in order to build the kingdom of God.  Pastor Davis is called to the ministry of reconciliation through preaching the Word of God, community outreach, education, and life skills training. First reconciling man to God, second man to himself, and last but not least man to his neighbor. According, to Pastor Davis, “True reconciliation considers the entire man. I desire to see God glorified as people are saved, healed, restored and edified so that they can fulfill their God given destiny.”

Pastor Davis has been well prepared to do the work that the Lord has assigned her. She has a Master of Theology with an emphasis in educational leadership from Dallas Theological Seminary and a certificate from the American Association of Christian Counselors. In addition, Pastor Davis graduated magna cum laude from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. She was licensed to preach by the Lesea Evangelistic Association and ordained by Higher Ground Always Abounding Assemblies, in South Bend, IN and Columbus, OH, respectively. Moreover, she has a graduate teacher diploma from the Evangelical Training Association.

She has been an invited guest to the White House on numerous occasions to discuss issues affecting the African American community. Her efforts have also been recognized in Christianity Today, World Magazine, Family News in Focus, and LifeNews.com. In addition, Pastor Davis is often featured on various panels and radio shows, at conferences and churches, and in a national commercial. Most recently she has become a regular guest on The Totally Christian Television (TCT) network’s ‘Ask the Pastor.’ Janine is married to Richard and they reside in Detroit, Michigan.
